Every Bitcoin transaction ever made is public. In theory anyone can check where funds came from and where they went. In practice you need to know your way around a block explorer, read raw transaction data, and do the currency maths yourself. Most people never get past the first hurdle.
We wanted to close that gap. BTC Sniffer exists for three reasons.
To make the ledger readable
The information is already out there. What was missing was a plain-language way in: type an address, get an answer, see every amount in pounds, euros or dollars as well as in BTC. No setup, no cost, no assumed knowledge.
To give ordinary people a forensic tool
Being able to follow value along the chain is genuinely useful. You can keep an eye on a project’s treasury wallet, check where a refund actually went, or trace funds after a scam before you talk to your bank or the police. Tools that do this have mostly been sold to institutions. We think a basic version should be available to anyone.
To make the ecosystem a little more honest
When more people can inspect the chain, bad actors have fewer places to hide and good projects have an easy way to show their books. Putting a simple, free tool in more hands is a small push in that direction, and it fits what DILIGIO LTD works on the rest of the time.
BTC Sniffer is free to use and improved on a regular basis. If it helps you, tell someone who could use it too.
